Is RF Microneedling Safe for Dark Skin? What to Know About Sylfirm X
Many people with brown and Black skin have been told to avoid lasers and aggressive resurfacing because of the risk of dark spots, called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling is different, and it is one of the most requested skin treatments we offer.
How RF microneedling works
Tiny needles deliver radiofrequency heat below the surface of the skin. That heat triggers new collagen, which smooths scars, tightens skin and refines pores. Because the energy goes under the surface rather than through it, the top layer of skin is protected.
Why Sylfirm X
Sylfirm X is an FDA-cleared RF microneedling device with two modes: one for collagen and tightening, and a pulsed mode that targets pigment and redness. That makes it useful for melasma and uneven tone, which many other devices make worse.
